Let us take you on a journey of the year that was.
Thank you to our members for their dedication and commitment to making our community a better place. Jump on board for a fun filled ride through the last year.
May 2018 - It is again Bowelscan month. Bowelscan is a Rotary initiative to provide testing kits to the public through our local pharmacies. These tests help alert us to irregularities that can be caused by Bowel cancer. Please go and purchase your kit and be screened for this deadly disease.
6th May 2018 - We again cleaned up the Yea entrance to town doing our Adopt A Road project. Thankyou to the 15 members and partners that have given their morning up to make our towns entrances look pretty. Well done to everyone concerned.
29th,30th of March and the 2nd of April
Again we were out at the servo's shaking the buckets collecting money. On Good Friday we raise funds for the Royal Children's Hospital. This year we collected $1840.00. We would like to acknowledge and thank Sodexo for allowing us to collect money at their sites, without their support we would not be able to raise the funds that we do. Thanks to everyone who gave up their time to collect over Easter.
9th,10th & 12th of March
Over the long weekend our members went out to the Service Stations on the Freeway near Tallarook, which is where we shake the can. It is always a great way of raising money and it is out of town money which is an added bonus. Thanks so much to everyone who gave up their time and helped out.
16th,17th & 18th February
Seymour Alternative Farming Expo car parking is a hot, dusty job, but the members of the club use it as a great way to raise money while having a good time chatting to the patrons and each other. We again raised a significant amount of money for the club to be channeled back into the community.
Australia Day 2018 was again a huge success. It is a chance for the community to come together and celebrate being an Australian, whilst trying out some of the great activities and displays on offer. Our Australia Day Ambassador was Milosh Ivanivich, who was born in Yugoslavia and migrated here as a child. Milosh was a former Young Victorian of the Year and was very impressed by our town and community spirit.
Thankyou to all the volunteers who helped and other the community groups that had displays. This event shows off our commitment to providing a free event for all to enjoy. 26th January 2018
Our raffle again was a great success we have made $3000 profit from the raffle and my thanks go to everyone involved. Thank you to all our members who sold tickets or who manned our selling times.

Anzac Tribute Show
Concert-goers were taken back to World War 1, when the Rotary Club of Seymour and the Seymour RSL club put on an ANZAC Centenary Tribute Show at our local Community Arts Centre. With just over 100 tickets sold, guests enjoyed songs from the Sunbury Choral Society, which provided wonderful insight into the war era and spirit of ANZAC. The songs of the era were beautifully sung, so all in all a great event which allowed our club to raise a significant amount of money to send to the ARH – RSL PTSD initiative. Along with this, raffle tickets were sold prior to and on the day, bringing the total funds raised to $3,928. The money will go towards Post Traumatic Stress Disorder research through a combined Australian Rotary Health and RSL initiative. 19th November 2017.
Each year we do several 'Shake the Cans' our first being over the Melbourne Cup weekend. This is a great way of raising funds for the club and it is out of town money. Thanks go to Sodexo for allowing us to do this each year at the service stations both North and Southbound on the Hume Freeway. Thanks to all those that have helped over the weekend and to the lovely people that we have met. 3rd, 4th and 7th November.
Tastes of the Goulburn was again a roaring success for our community. We were happy to provide a BBQ for the patrons and cover one of the gates for collection of entry fees. Here are a few photos of the shenanigans on the day and as you can see we have a blast!
The club hosted it's first Business Breakfast, it was held at the Royal Hotel and it presented a great opportunity for our business community to come together. Well done Jacqui for organising the event on Wednesday 11th October 2017.
October is a busy month which we kick start by manning the show gates. The show goes for 2 days and was on the 6th & 7th of October. Thank you to every one who gave up their Friday night and Saturday.
September we again did an Adopt A Road. This time on the Yea entrance to town. As always it is amazing how much rubbish we collect. Well done guys and girls and thank you for giving up your Sunday morning.
In August we had our annual trivia night which was again a huge success and so much fun. It was great to have so many support our club through donations from businesses in our community to members of our community coming along on the night with their pockets full of money to help raise funds for our Youth programs. We played games, threw money at a bottle, held loud & silent auctions, had a raffle, lucky numbers and of course trivia. Thank you to everyone who supported us, it really was a fantastic night!
Our first service activity for the year was Adopt A Road, cleaning the road from the freeway to the Winery Kitchen along Emily St. Thank you to our members for giving up their Sunday morning in freezing conditions. A job well done.
