District Conference 15th & 16th February 2019 - We ventured off to our first Multi District Conference where over 1500 Rotarians converged on Jeff's shed. It was insightful, informative, entertaining and well worth attending. Rotary programs were showcased, international speakers inspired and Circus Oz were brilliant as was Marina Prior. Christine Nixon was one of our keynote speakers and was fabulous, speaking about the challenges she encountered as a woman on her way to the top. All in all a wonderful fun filled and action packed weekend.

Vale Marlene Campbell
On Sunday 11th November Marlene passed away and our club will miss her greatly for her commitment, strength, humour and can do attitude. Marlene has been a member for almost 7 years, during that time she has made many friends who all hold her in high regard. Marlene held many roles within the club including our bulletin editor for 3 years, arguably the hardest job in the club. Marlene also organised our first International Women's Day celebration, which we intend to continue in her honour. Our club has lost a valued member who was passionate about helping her community and helping all those around her. Miss you beautiful lady.
Business Awards June 2018 - Our club held our 1st business awards and what a success. It was such a pleasure to see so many of our local businesses represented and winning on the night. Seymour has so much to be proud of and our town was certainly showcased.

This year both David Freeman and Fiona McCarthy participated in the Ride to Conference. They ride over 5 days and cover a distance of 600 kilometers raising money for Australian Rotary Health. The ride was a hard slog but both our riders completed the journey. Well done you have done our club proud!
Last Sunday President Ron and Fiona McCarthy attended the Alexandra Town Hall where 10 prosthetic limbs were assembled for the Hands on Project which is sponsored by RACWS. Each limb took 2 hours to compete which included providing our club details so that the recipient can communicate with us directly in the future.
During the 10 years of fighting in the Vietnam war a lot of the bombs dropped did not explode, which led to children in Laos, Cambodia and other countries trying to profit by retrieving the metal. Quite often this resulted in handling live ammunition which would explode and damage their limbs. Hence the need for prosthetics'.

It was with great sadness that we announced PP Bob Collins has passed away on December 6th. Bob was a gentleman, who was loved by all and was active in Rotary until his health restricted his involvement. Bob started in Rotary with the then Kilmore Club in November 1976, then joined Seymour in June 1988, sponsored by Bryan Tehan. Bob held many positions over the years including President of both clubs, along with Treasurer of Seymour for several years. Bob was also extremely proud of being the conference chair for PDG Bill Hollman's conference held in Wagga Wagga. Bob will be missed by all and our sympathies are extended to Rita and his family. RIP Bob.
It was with great pride and pleasure PP Ruth Byers handed a cheque to ARH representive Philip Clancy for $3928.00 which was the sum raised through the Anzac Tribute Show and raffle. ARH (Australian Rotary Health) will use the donation to help fung more research into PTSD. A truly great effort!
It is with great pleasure that our club sponsored Mikayla Holman to attend the annual RYLA camp held at Doxa in Malmsbury. It is a great opportunity for young people like Mikayla to learn confidence and how important it is believe in yourself and that you can achieve anything you set your mind to!
Our thanks go to Seymour College teachers and students for bringing in one of the energy breakthrough cars to show us. We are proud to sponsor the school in the energy breakthrough each year and wish them every success.
